AESTHETIC BLUE TRANSFERWARE PLATE
James Beech, Swan Bank Works Pottery
Tunstall, Staffordshire England ~ c. 1883
This Victorian aesthetic 9 1/4 ' supper plate is transfer printed in delicious blue.
The clear and crisp CANTERBURY pattern features a rim with geometric designs. The center of the plate is very busy with a honeycomb of wildly exotic flowers and whimsies. One cartouche of tropical flowers and another with a recumbent fully antlered deer resting at the water's edge. By far, one of the best and rarest aesthetic pattern.
Condition is EXCELLENT. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. Light edge rubbing to outer rim.
