AESTHETIC BROWN POLYCHROME TRANSFERWARE CHEESE KEEP OR DOME

EMLY PATTERN

Charles Hobson Pottery

Burslem, Staffordshire England

c. 1870

This RARE victorian aesthetic 12 " long x 8 1/2 " tall x 8 " wide cheese stand is transfer printed in dark brown. Multi-colored polychrome painting in shades of cherry red, cobalt blue, golden yellow and green. A fantastic color combination. Vent hole along the top to let the cheese breathe.

The clear and crisp pattern features exciting medallions of period geometric designs and flowers mixed with branches of ripe cherries and honeysuckle buds and blooms. The pattern displays the victorian eras love the exotic.

Condition is EXCELLENT. Professionally cleaned shiny and bright. No evidence of use with no damage except for a tiny flake along the base rim. Unusual shapes in this condition are near impossible to find.
