AESTHETIC MARINE BLUE TRANSFERWARE PLATTER

GORDON PATTERN

E. and C. Challinor & Co. Unicorn Potteries

Tunstall, Staffordshire England

c. 1875

This Victorian aesthetic 15 1/2 " long x 12 " wide platter is transfer printed in a rich marine blue, an uncommon color for this period. The clear and crisp GORDON pattern features a border divided into alternating patterns of luscious exotic flowers and geometric shapes. The well of the platter features wild native roses surrounding Japanesque designs. The pattern displays the victorian eras love of the exotic.

Condition is EXCELLENT. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. Light transfer smears along the rim and two kiln kisses to the rim.
