AESTHETIC MOVEMENT ERA

FLOW BLUE TRANSFERWARE PLATE

Minton Potteries
Stoke-on-Trent
Staffordshire England
c. 1875

This Victorian era large 10 1/4 " wide plate is transfer printed in flow blue.

This porcelain plate depicts flying cranes, the Japanese symbol for longevity, with stylized ocean waves. Dresser clearly looked to Japanese sources for inspiration and artistic guidance.

Good condition with very light utensil to the front and a chip off the back of the rim per photo. A rare find from this master artist.
