This late 19th century earthenware pottery Butter pot dates to 1895. 6 1/2” across and 3 1/2” tall and has a rare to find fitting lid with finial. The decorative advertising is transfer-printed in black and underneath the glaze and reads ‘ BUTTER ‘ Christmas 1895 ~ Ryhope & Silksworth Co-operative, Industrial & Provident Society Ltd The butter tub is in battered condition per photos. A great example, rare to find in any condition especially with the matching lid.
