This large Victorian 10 3/8 " wide plate is transfer printed in dark brown and artist colored in stunning bright colors with a green rim. A work of art.
Plate border designed by Thomas Allen after paintings by the great Victorian painter Albert Moore. Wonderful border filled with characters from Sir Walter Scotts novel along with a multitude of animals, fish and fowl.
The plate’s center is from the Early English 12 Months Series was designed by Helen J. A. Miles, an artist extraordinaire at the Wedgwood factories. This particular plate depicts the May and features images of a two young girls picking cherry blossoms.
Never Used. Displays beautifully, condition is great.
