This turn of the century oval ironstone Butter pot with matched lid dates to c 1900. 7 3/4” long x 5 1/2” across and 4 ” tall.
The decorative advertising is transfer-printed in black and underneath the glaze and reads ‘BUTTER’ in a great letter font. Vent holes to the top of the lid
The butter tub is in great condition. One tiny glaze flake off the bottom. A great example, rare to find as displays beautifully
Very popular with the American market today although probably made for the English trade.
