6 ~ LARGE AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATES
James Beech, Swan Bank Works Pottery Tunstall, Staffordshire England ~ c. 1883
These six Victorian aesthetic large 10 1/4 " dinner plates are transfer printed in very dark brown. One of my favorite patterns, take a close look and you will see why.
The pattern features a rim with geometric designs. The center of the plate is very busy with a honeycomb of wildly exotic flowers and whimsies. One cartouche of tropical flowers and another with Camels walking upon the desert. By far, one of the best and rarest aesthetic pattern especially in this condition.
