This early outstanding plate, one of the best clear examples we have seen, is transfer printed dark cobalt blue with the ponding of a pearlware glaze.
The large 10 1/8 " plate features a central medallion features a mighty lion preying on a distant wildebeast. The inside rim cartouches are of mountain scenes with a pair of deer, a pair of shaggy horses, two goats and their two kids, and a pair of zebras with and ostridge. Floral baskets, inverted shells and scrolling compliment and complete this marvelous plate.
The condition is EXCELLENT, very clean with no chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs.
