These large Victorian 10 1/2 " plates are transfer printed in dark brown with delightful under glaze painting in shades of pink and red, green and cobalt blue, golden yellow and turquoise.
The pattern features William Shakespeare's house and a larger cartouche image of Stratford - Where he was baptized and then buried. These fabulous insets are surrounded by a plethora of flowering roses and wildflowers, maiden hair fern fronds and an exquisite butterfly.
