Vintage 6pc Limoges Dessert Plate Set

CH Field Haviland Limoges France c1950
This is a complete set of six porcelain dessert plates made by Charles Field Haviland in Limoges France. Each plate measures 7-1/2 inches in diameter and is illustrated with various animals birds trees and plants. The plates are signed by the illustrator artist Claude Beyer. Each plate bears the red Haviland Limoges backstamp and are successively numbered 1 - 6 on the reverse with the title EARTHLY PARADISE along with a verse from the Bible Book of Genesis (1)

The set is in great condition. The plates are in great unused condition. Colorful graphics in excellent original condition. Minimal shelf dust on foot ring.
Charles Field Haviland was an American who moved to Limoges France in the early 1850s to work originally for his uncle, David Haviland founder of Haviland and Company. He later opened his own decorating studio for porcelain to export items to the US and in 1868 purchased a porcelain manufacturing company. The CH Field Haviland mark now belongs to Robert Haviland and C Parlon.
