HAND PAINTED CABINET PLATE
BOTANICAL ~ HIBISCUS
Made in Hanley, a town in the Staffordshire Region of England by
Brown-Westhead and Moore Potteries
c. 1882
This early Victorian botanical plate is 8 1/2 inches in diameter. The scalloped rim plate has a professionally painted flowering branches of Hibiscus Buds and Blossoms, under the glaze. A work of art by a master potter.
The piece is marked on the underside with an impressed registration mark and Brown-Westhead and Moore working in Hanley in the Staffordshire region of England from 1862-1904.
Clean shiny and bright, and in great condition, one utensil mark..
