Imari Flow Blue CHRISTOPHER DRESSER Cookie Plate 1885
AESTHETIC MOVEMENT TRANSFERWARE PLATE
Old Hall Earthenware Potteries
Hanley, Staffordshire England ~ c. 1885
This cabinet plate is 9 1/8” in diameter, probably for savory desserts or sandwiches. The plate, designed by Christopher Dresser features the finest in aesthetic design. Quite unusual and rare to find in red imari flow blue colors. Design by the legendary Christopher Dresser during his work at the English potteries.
Wildly isometrical with Japanese whimsy designs, the height of the Aesthetic Movement in form and design.
Clean and bright, appears to have never been used.
