Early 20th Century Stoneware Marmalade Paste Pot
Genuine Late Victorian Transfer Printed
James Keiller and Sons
This is a wonderful English pot that once prize winning Marmalade. Cooked and reduced to a concentrate, heavenly.
Preservation was a must before refrigeration, these pots were popular as they were able to preserve their foods for consumption at any time of the year and these jam pots fit the bill, a bit of wax and cloth cover on top.
The piece is in great condition. 4 1/2 " tall x 2 7/8 " wide. Normal crazing consistent with age. An extra bit of slip clay under the glaze and overall light tan age browning.
