RARE SHAPE AESTHETIC TRANSFERWARE PICKLE OR RELISH

INDUS PATTERN

Ridgways Potteries

Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire England

c. 1885

This very desirable and hard to find Victorian aesthetic movement era 10 1/4 " long x5 1/2 " wide pickle or relish dish is transfer printed in delicious black.

The pattern features a rim of wildly tropical flowers with hummingbirds flitting around the edge. The well of the pickle has aquatic flowering Iris, Cattails, and Water Lilies surrounding a most unusual and exotic bird. A marvel of the imagination.

Never Used and in excellent condition. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs.
