This Victorian aesthetic 7 1/2 " plate is transfer printed in lovely chocolate brown.
The clear and crisp BALTIMORE pattern features a twisted rope transfer along the rim with exotic thorny branches of quince flowers cascading into the well where two exquisite cartouches are displayed. One of a bridge over a river at sunrise with birds in flight overhead, a Christopher Dresser influence. The other of a three masted sailing vessel with an outrageous sky in the background and waves cresting in the foreground.
The pattern displays the victorian eras love of nature and travel to exotic lands.
