AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE SERVING PLATTER

RUSTIC PATTERN

Burgess and Leigh ~ Hill Pottery

Staffordshire England

c. 1886

This wonderfully small Victorian aesthetic platter or butter type dish is 8 3/4 " long x 4 5/8 " wide and is transfer printed in dark brown.

The clear and crisp RUSTIC pattern features two birds in flight over an urn filled with cherry blossom flowers. Exotic fruit and red raspberries along with a multitude of flowers frame the aesthetic cartouche of a distant country landscape. Wonderful geometric designs complete the plate. Excellent impressed handles.

Excellent Condition. A tiny under the glaze corner rub made during the making.
