Made in Burslem, a town in the Staffordshire Region of England by
R. Hammersley and Son Potteries
This Victorian very large 17 7/8 " long x 14 5/8 " wide platter is transfer printed in dark brown. The printed transfer features a huge Japanesque ribbon surrounded by lovely Butterflies and a plethora of dainty birds. Superb work of art.
The piece is marked on the underside with an impressed registration mark, the pattern name the intials R. H & S that identifies the maker as Ralph Hammersley, a pottery maker working in Burslem in the Staffordshire region of England from.
Spectacular condition. Clean shiny and bright and there are no chips, no cracks, no hairline and no repairs.
