AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATTER
RUSTIC PATTERN
Burgess and Leigh ~ Hill Pottery
Staffordshire England
c. 1886
This wonderful victorian aesthetic platter is 16 " long x 11 1/2 " wide and is transfer printed in very dark brown.
The clear and crisp RUSTIC pattern features two birds in flight over an urn filled with cherry blossom flowers. Exotic fruit and red raspberries along with a multitude of flowers frame the aesthetic cartouche of a distant country landscape. Wonderful geometric designs complete the plate. The pattern displays the victorian eras love of nature and travel to exotic lands.
Condition is EXCELLENT, clean shiny and bright. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. A few stray utensil marks. Our favorite pattern, it has everything going for it.
