AESTHETIC MOVEMENT BROWN TRANSFERWARE CHEESE WHEEL STAND
NIPON ~ HERON
Pinder and Bourne & Doulton Potteries
Staffordshire England
c. 1888
This Victorian English 12 1/4 inch wide x 2 5/8 inch tall footed cheese or cake stand is transfer printed in brown.
The clear and crisp aesthetic pattern features flowering cherry blossoms completely encasing an asymmetrical Japanesques ribbon tapestry with exotic geometric designs and a scene of a Heron in flight. A delicious pattern. The pattern displays the Victorian eras love of nature.
The maker is Doulton, a pottery maker working in the Staffordshire region of England during the 19th century.
Excellent condition and probably never other than for display. A great display piece.
