VERY LARGE BROWN TRANSFERWARE POLYCHROME PLATE

Made in Staffordshire Region of England

c. 1887

This wonderful large Victorian aesthetic 10 3/4 " plate is transfer printed in dark brown and further enhanced with under the glaze hand painting in shades of green, golden yellow and rose pink.

The pattern features Japanesque ribbon scrolls with bright flowers and foliage of Roses, Forget-Me-Nots, and Morning Glories surrounding four cartouches. A Maiden in period attire with her hay rake, men gathering hay by the quarter moonlight, Birds feeding and a man fishing at sea side. Wow!

The piece is in EXCELLENT condition, clean shiny and bright. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. Appears to have never been used.
