LARGE VICTORIAN TRANSFERWARE PLATE
ROSEBUD PATTERN
Grove & Stark Potteries
Longton, Staffordshire England ~ c. 1883
This large Victorian aesthetic 10 1/2 " wide exciting plate is transfer printed in dark chocolate brown. The clear and crisp pattern features bristling rose flowers in bud surrounding scrolls and ribbons and geometric circles. One shows a young boy blowing bubbles for the delight of his girl companion. The larger one has two exotic birds atop the scroll watching as a young boy with his Butterfly or Fish net sheepishly communing with a young girl. Delightful !!
Never Used. Clean, shiny and bright. No wear, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. A very small flake off the outer rim. Displays beautifully.
