c. 1885
This victorian 8 1/2 " supper plate is transfer printed in blue with an exceptionally clear and crisp BELMONT pattern featuring alternating panels of fern fronds and maiden hair fern fronds separated by four insets of partridges, a female duck and a woodcock. The well of the plate has a quail or partridge sitting on her nest as the male watches over the landscape. A spectacular plate !
