AESTHETIC GREEN TRANSFERWARE PLATE
Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire England c. 1885 This large Victorian aesthetic 9 1/2 " dinner plate is transfer printed in very dark green. The clear and crisp DEVONSHIRE pattern features a fancy pin wheel flower border around a completely covered well with oversized daisy type flowers and three magnificent cartouches. One with a proud cock watching the sun rise beneath the cherry branch, another with a bird chasing an insect, and the last is of ocean shells and sea corral with two large unusual fish. The pattern displays the victorian eras love of nature and travel to exotic lands.
Condition is EXCELLENT. Clean and bright. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs.
