AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATE
W. E and Co. Potteries, possibly James Emberton
Staffordshire England ~ c. 1883
This Victorian aesthetic 8 " plate is transfer printed in delicious dark brown.
The clear and crisp ATLANTIC pattern features cherry buds and flowering cherry blossoms divided by a geometric tile cartouche. A smiling fish floats along in the water among the water lilied and lily pads. I love this pattern as each plate is a different scene.
EXCELLENT CONDITION. Clean shiny and bright. No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Very light glaze wear to a tiny area along the outer rim.
