Beautiful silk scarf with rolled hem is signed in several places as shown; it also has the Pucci label and made in Florence (Firenze). This is a very large scarf and the condition is fine with no spots or pulls. It does not have its original box but has been lovingly cared for. Emilio Pucci (1919-1992) was born in Italy to a family of wealth and nobility. He was a very intelligent man and earned 3 degrees before joining the Italian Air Force in 1928. In a few years he would earn a skiing scholarship to Reed College in Portland, Oregon. His first design was the Reed ski team uniforms which were manufactured by White Stag. The rest, as they say, is history. Pucci's designs became an overnight sensation and he was designing capris and silk jersey blouses which women went wild for. Around 1954 he introduced the lightweight printed silk jersey dresses for which he became so famous. During the 1960's Pucci began using geometric forms and color in the tradition of Art Deco; his designs included cubes, circles, squares, triangles, and diamond patterns. This scarf is a very typical design from this time period.
