Lovely Victorian style necklace by Sadie Green is signed on the chain with a hang tag. The pendant is made of a oval, black cabochon which is prong set; the chain is embellished with repousse' fleur de lis accents and black crystals. The adjustable length chain measures approximately 20 inches long. Excellent condition! The company was founded by Laurie Boniface in 1981. The owner had begun making jewelry as early as 1973 to compliment vintage fashions that she sold in her vintage clothing shop (called Sadie Green's Curiosity Shop). Her jewelry became so popular that she began buying vintage glass and findings from closed jewelry factories in Rhode Island. Her goal was to make quality costume jewelry that was affordable. Her Victorian line offers styles from the turn of the 20th century to about 1940's and many of her designs are limited editions. Each piece of Sadie Green jewelry is hand set and no glue is used. Jewelry is guaranteed for the life of the piece.
