Fantastic figural brooch from Kenneth Lane features a bulbous frog with bright green eyes and pave' set stones over its surface. It is crouched as through ready to leap through the air; however the large imitation pearl might be an impediment! This gorgeous figural pin was made during a period of collaboration between KJL and the Laguna company which occurred during the 1960's. In his book, "Faking It", Mr. Lane features several pieces from his Laguna period and dates them to the late 1960's. While he made several different items during this collaboration including some fantastic pearl necklaces, his figural jewelry is what collectors treasure most.
This is a nice size measuring just over 1 3/4 inches long by 1 1/2 inches at its widest. The only condition issue to note is one area with a smidge of irregularity on the surface of the pearl; it is NOT nacre loss. I mention this for accuracy but it is very minimal. Study the pictures and please don't hesitate to ask any questions. This is a very collectible brooch from the impeccable Mr. Lane!
