Stunning Retro Modern brooch is signed MADE IN MEXICO and Sterling; in the center of the circle another signature appears and I believe it is CORO in script although it is a bit hard to decipher. This iconic World War II design is most likely part of the Coro company production which was moved to Taxco and made in the Hector Aguilar studio of silversmiths between 1943 and approximately 1950. The huge floral design features gold wash over silver petals with a huge emerald green stone in the center. It measures an impressive 3 inches in diameter. The stone itself is also quite large and measures just shy of an inch wide. Wonderful condition. Simply gorgeous and historic piece! (Note: there is no discoloration on this piece, just a reflection of what I was wearing when I took the photograph)
