Fantastic find! This brooch features a turbaned character mounted on a scimitar; the pin is signed "Thief of Bagdad Korda" on the back. It also has signs that precede and follow the mark; they are Arab letters. The very detailed pin measures 3 inches long by 1 inch (not including the chain). Condition is excellent. It looks a bit tarnished but I could not find a sterling mark. I'm almost positive it is sterling however. The manufacturer is Rice-Weiner & Company of Providence, RI, which was granted the exclusive right to reproduce jewelry of all kinds based on and inspired by Alexander Korda's 1940 movie "The Thief of Bagdad." The series included bracelets, brooches, necklaces, rings, and earrings that featured characters from the film. You can see additional examples of jewelry from this series in the Brunialti book entitled "American Costume Jewelry Art & Industry, 1935-1950, (N-Z).
