Classic styling defines this lovely flower brooch from Vendome. It features shades of peach enamel highlighted with gold; the center of the flower is an imitation pearl encircled with golden topaz rhinestones. There are additional pearls scattered about as well as rich green enameling on the leaves which accent the flower. Nice size measuring 4 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide, this is signed on an oval cartouche VENDOME. This is a book piece and can be seen in "Classic American Costume Jewelry, Vol. 2" by Jacqueline Rehmann on page 229. Excellent condition. Vendome jewelry was produced from 1944-1970 and it replaced Coro's high end line of jewelry (Coro-craft). The head designer for Vendome was Helen Marion, whose designs featured high quality rhinestones and beads, rich enameling, and excellent metalwork. It is always popular with collectors because of its high quality and excellent designs.
