Unusual La Roco butterfly brooch may be the only one I have ever seen in person. This one features a japanned setting with lush, gorgeous pink and rich, raspberry colored rhinestones, including chatons and marquis shaped stones. All are prong set including the antennae. This is signed "La Roco" on an oval cartouche. It measures almost 2 inches wide by 2 inches high. The only smidgen of wear I see is on the signature cartouche itself. Gorgeous, high quality piece! The colors may look a little washed out in the photo; believe me they are anything but! A note about the company: La Roco was formed in 1918 by Layko, Ross, and Co. Inc. The jewelry is known to be well made, using high quality materials in distinctive settings. La Roco jewelry is rare in the collectibles market. When you see a pin and earrings, usually only the earrings are signed.
