This is a fantastic piece of 1970's vintage jewelry. The imitation jade and gold plated elephant is LARGE measuring almost 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. The sturdy chain measures 36 inches long! It does not have a clasp as this can slip easily over the head. Surprisingly unsigned, this is an extremely well made pendant/chain combo. Note: the imitation jade is made of a hard resin material. The gold on the elephant has no scratches or darkening; any marks are overhead reflections from when the picture was taken. This is in great condition. This is a book piece and can be seen on page 134 of "Classic American Costume Jewelry, Vol. 2" by Jacqueline Rehmann.
