This captivating brooch by Vendome features loads of crystal beads strung on wire which create a ruffled flower effect. Amazingly the pastel crystal beads are hand wired to the back of the brooch. This is a very large brooch and measures 3 1/4 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches high. Each of the stamen is finished with a crystal clear rhinestone. The predominant colors of the beads are pink and lilac; the setting is silver plated and the brooch is signed on the back as shown. I have included a photograph of model Jean Shrimpton wearing a similar brooch in her hair. This would be a perfect hair accessory or a great brooch for a lapel!
I also have the earrings which I will include at no additional cost as one of the earrings needs re-beading in one section.
Vendome jewelry was produced from 1944-1970 and it replaced Coro's high end line of jewelry (Coro-craft). The lead designer for Vendome in the 1960's was Helen Marion, whose innovative use of crystals was responsible for some of the most exciting jewelry designs of the time. Her designs also featured high quality rhinestones, rich enameling, and excellent metalwork. It is always popular with collectors because of its high quality and excellent designs.
