From the Joan Rivers Classics Collection comes this four piece set featuring necklace, brooch, and matching (pierced) earrings. Each of the pieces is signed on a cartouche as shown. The brooch measures 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches and features a gold plated setting with three resin cherries and pave' set crystal clear rhinestones. The color of the cherries on all pieces is a rich, dark red. The matching earrings and necklace each feature the same design on a smaller scale except that the clusters each have 2 cherries. The adjustable length necklace measures 20 inches overall so it can be worn a few different lengths depending on your preference. The pierced earrings measure 1 inch by 1 inch. Overall condition is fine with no issues. The brooch can be seen in Ms. Rivers book entitled "Jewelry by Joan Rivers" on page 131.
In her book entitled "Official Price Guide to Costume Jewelry," (2002) Harrice Simons Miller notes that Joan Rivers was a collector of museum-quality antique jewelry and wanted to share her appreciation for classic jewelry designs with women everywhere. The Joan Rivers Classics collection began in 1990 and it sold out in a matter of minutes, breaking every record for television sales. Ms. Miller notes that Joan searched the world's treasures for inspiration and her collections include reproductions from the Victorian era, art deco estate jewelry, and Hollywood glamour from the 1940's.
