For sale is this circa 1925, 10k Gold St. Ann's Academy Medal on its original blue and white 33" long ribbons. The medal measures almost 2" long and it alone weighs 8.4 grams of fine 10k gold. The letters SAA and the year 1925 are on front of the medal, but it has not been engraved on back so I cannot identify who it belonged to. It is in excellent condition.
St. Ann's Academy was located in Wilkes-Barre, PA opening in 1885 and closing its doors in 1971. The school was established by Mother Pauline, founder of the Sisters of Christian Charity with the Mother House based out of Mendham, NJ. It was an all female academy until 1932 when boys were admitted to the primary level.
