For sale is this 14k rose gold ring dating to the early 1800's. It measures 1/2" from north to south and is currently a size 6 1/2. There is a piece of frosted rock crystal in the center with no chips or damage and surrounding this stone are faceted black onyx. I've shown close ups of the onyx so you can see that one stone is chipped, but all are original to the ring and I don't feel it should be replaced. I'm not sure if there is anything such as a skull or woven hair under the frosted glass simply because I cannot see anything, but many of these rings had these things. The ring weighs 3.3 grams and has a band of yellow gold inside the shank only to make it fit a smaller finger; the original shank was not weak, thin or broken. The setting has been carefully acid tested to be at least 14k gold.
