For sale is this large and heavy, Victorian era brooch done in a buckle motif with extremely brilliant guilloche enamel & sterling silver with a gold wash on back. It measures 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" and weighs 40.3 grams. Although the Blackington hallmark is very worn, the number and letter make it easy to identify & it has been carefully tested as 0.925 sterling. There is no enamel loss or damage. The color appears different in my pictures, but it is simply because of the lighting and the multi facets of the enameling. It dates to circa 1910.
April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month; a portion of my sales will go to our local SPCA.
