For sale is one of the oldest gold nursing pins I've owned. It measures 1 1/8" wide, weighs 7.9 grams and is trimmed with red enamel. The nurse who earned this pin was born the year before the school opened in 1887. Wilkes Barre General Hospital is located in Wilkes-Barre, PA and is still open, but the nursing school closed many years ago. There is only one tiny flaw in the enamel on this 106 year old pin. Not marked, but acid tested as 14k solid rose gold. It also has a fold down loop to wear as a pendant.
