Offered is this outstanding, rustic carved wood picture frame. The frame features and oval window with gilded frame, set inside of a rectangular frame. The front edge is carved to resemble wood branches. Appears to be made of walnut or perhaps mahogany.
The frame has the original No. 77 stamped on back-top. The hanging wire and loops are replacements, the original loops were installed a little lower, as can be seen on the back photo. The frame is overall in excellent condition. The center oval frame has a couple hairlines in it at top/bottom, a little gold wear and a couple chips off the back, but not surprising for a frame that is easily 120+ years old.
No glass or other mounting hardware are included. Likely held an oil painting or something else not requiring glass.
Measures 16-1/8"H x 14-1/8"W x 3-3/8"D. The oval is about 8"H x 10"W.
