Offered is a vintage cut crystal and brass lamp. An exquisite lamp, it has a beaded shade, with hand cut crystal prisms around the outside and a crystal finial at top. The lamp base is 3 individual pieces of cut crystal and features a cast brass capital at top. The brass ring and tassels around the ball at bottom sits on top of a ridge especially cut for it to fit ( can be lifted to clean crystal). The base is solid brass and has feet. The ring on the ball and the shade frame have the same pattern on the cast brass, so you can tell it's original to the lamp.
We believe this lamp is from the 1920s or 30s and was originally silver plated brass. At some point in the past, the lamp was burnished, likely to remove the well worn silver. Has been newly rewired and a new solid brass socket added.
In excellent condition - no chips or cracks to to the crystal below the shade or on the finial. The hanging beads around the outside of the shade were restrung on filament, probably when the lamp was last burnished, and all are in good shape. The shade does not come off for shipping. Will ship very carefully packed.
Measures 31"H x 12"W at the widest part of shade and 7-1/4" widest at feet. The lamp is tall and somewhat narrow and we recommend that it be displayed somewhere that it will not move.
