Offered is this Vintage Japanese Silk Uchikake Kimono.
Made in the late 1930s or early 1940s (Showa period) of silk brocade, and hand painted with a river of Royal red, or White Clouds depending on how you look at it. Decorated with hand painted Cranes, Trees, Flowers and Fans. The interior is royal red. Typically worn during a wedding, or other formal ceremony.
Has been on display in a very large plexiglass case for many years, and was only removed when we purchased it. Colors are bright and vibrant. Very clean, a few minor spots, typical and nothing notably concerning. No holes.
Measures about 53"W and about 73"L. Sleeves are about 41-1/2"L
