Offered is a Pair of Antique 1890s Brass Mammoth #3 Size Kerosene Lamps, which have been converted to electric, and mounted on marble bases.
One 'The Juno', and one 'Rochester', both fitted to marble, and utilizing clip on adapters with pleated shades. They make a very impressive statement for someone who wants a real antique look, but modern convenience of electric.
Both of the lamps were originally made in the 1890s by the Edward Miller & Company of Meriden, Connecticut. The Juno Lamp was made by and for Miller. The Rochester was made by Miller under license for The Rochester Lamp Company, which is why the two lamps share a common look around the bottom half.
These are not reproductions, but genuine kerosene/oil lamps that likely hung in an old country general store.
They measure: About 20-1/2"H overall with shades, about 14-1/4"H without About 15-1/8"W with shades, and about 9"W without.
Note the varied size marble bases which we assume allowed for a similar finished size. One is more bright than the other, which shows some aged darkening. Both were wired with black cloth covered wire, which is in good shape, but shows a little wear. The shades are newer, and in perfect condition.
