STUNNING original cyanotype of a mysterious female figure within floral elements - Awakening.
Judith Jaffe says; "Why I Draw from life: From time to time I get together with other artists to draw from the nude model. These exercises are challenging because the poses vary and exist from only 2 minutes to as long as an hour. Often in my studio, I will experiment with life drawings in order to create fresh images that have been inspired by the female body.
The result of my latest investigations using the figure is the series titled "Eve and her Sisters."
Cyanotype is an intensive antique photographic process using chemicals which when placed in the sun develops into a rich Prussian blue. Within the figures and florals I used bleach to remove some color and then used tea to create various shades of golden beige and brown for contrast. Water colored pencils, netting and other materials were used for emphasis.
The magnificent colors include Prussian blue, Cerulean blue, cobalt blue and golden hues. It is impossible to fully capture the exact color hues and beautiful detail; wait until you see up close. WOW!
Artist, Judith Jaffe, is a graduate from the School of The Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Widely exhibited including solo shows, she is frequently winning awards for her extraordinary work. Decordova Museum, Danforth Museum, Distinguished Artists Invitational and the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts are only a few places her work is seen.
Painting measures approx 12" wide by 10" long on an acid free mat board/wider than shows in photo. A brilliant painting for any room in your home; will make a FABULOUS gift for yourself or someone special in your life!!
This is an original signed painting which can not be copied or used in any way.
