COLLECTOR'S 1923 first edition antiquarian hardcover book with scarce dust jacket - His Children's Children by Arthur Train.
Original copyright in 1922 by The International Magazine Company, Grosset & Dunlap, New York. Charles Scribner's Sons w/ Scribner's seal and "Published February 1923" on copyright page making this a first edition. Not ex-library.
EXQUISITE dustjacket art, bright color illustration by Charles D. Mitchell, depicts a slice of life in the 1920's; a true collector's gem. Beautiful black & white frontispiece illustration. Photos don't fully capture DJ color and frontis drawing detail; wait until you see up close.
Plot: Fortunes of a family, from their humble beginnings as they earn and lose wealth over several generations, while giving a cross section of post war high society. It was made into a movie years later.
Arthur Train: Former New York City assistant district attorney. Interactions with clients, experiences in courtroom, provided material for many novels and short stories he wrote including "The Needles Eye".
