We love the vibrant color illustrations by Sergio Leone. Written by Nancy Caster. This story is as vital to children's health today as it was in the sixties. These exercises were adapted for the famous Romper Room television show by President Kennedy's Council on Youth Fitness.
The exercise Elf teaches kids how to be healthy and move their bodies in fun ways pretending to be animals such as elephants, or an airplane, and there is even a Romper Room Posture song. How fantastic is that!

Very early books had dust jackets with a blue binding - extremely hard-to-find. After that the foil binding was changed to gold. Later, other foil bindings were introduced which included silver, black, and red with charming designs - animals etc... In the late 1950's Western Publishing & Lithographing, and Pocket Books Inc. became joint publishers, and company name was changed to Golden Press, Inc.
