This dainty Vintage sterling lady's match safe is a unique find. It has very finely engraved designs on both sides. On the front, there is a shield engraved with the initials EA. The inside is stamped with the maker's mark initials RP, a anchor for Birmingham, a lion for the standard mark for English sterling, and a lowercase u indicating the year 1919. The hinge is tight and works perfectly, and the striker is in perfect condition. The safe weighs 37.9 grams and measures 2 1/8" in length x 1 3/4" in width.
