This mechanical clown bank is circa 1940's and has been in a private collection for 25 years. It is made of tin and manufactured by J. Chein & Co. The colors of the clown include beige, yellow, orange, green, and blue. Money is deposited into the bank by pushing a lever near the word "press" located on the front and placing a coin on the tongue that extends from the clown's mouth. Once the lever is released, the coin is deposited inside. The coin trap is located on the bottom of the bank. Aside from a few surface scratches, this bank is in excellent condition. Please refer to the pictures. The dimensions are 2 9/16" round x 5 1/16" high.
