This is a wonderful large Victorian 14K rose gold fob locket depicting a Roman figure of a man. The reverse cover also has a highly polished inlaid hardstone of black and white agate, circa 1880. The bale at the top is in the shape of a 'love knot' and a larger bale that is a later addition which will accommodate a thick chain. The bottom is hinged, so it opens and close from the top with a tight 'snap'. The workmanship is of a very high quality and the cameo is extremely well detailed.
Dimensions: 7/8" long by 1/2" thick by 5/8" wide, 1 1/4" long with the applied bale but not including the bale for a chain.
Weight: 9.4 grams.
Condition: Excellent, all original, no blemishes to note.
Marks: None, tests 14K. Most jewelry from this century is not marked.
