SIGNED Loetz Phänomen Genre 1/64 Vase Circa 1901
Rare is an overused word in the antique art glass trade but it most definitely applies here. Loetz Phänomen Genre 1/64 is seldom seen compared to the similar Loetz decors of PG 1/4 or PG 1/78. This decor is on a cobalt blue ground. Three decorated pulled glass tadpoles descend from the rim. Randomly pulled red veining covers the blue ground somehow creating a soft gold iridescence.
Properly signed in script with the early "Loetz Austria" signature within the ground pontil.
Stands 4 1/8" tall and is in excellent condition without any chips, cracks or restorations. There are some surface scratches visible mostly around the hip of the vase as well as the typical tool marks characteristic of this decor as shown. Please inspect the images carefully. We pride ourselves on satisfied customers that understand the handmade qualities of these pieces that are over 100 years old.
